What's In my Bag!

I have been challenged by my best friend to show my wellness must haves that I carry with me everyday! What’s In My Bag posts are always entertaining and truly tell a lot about a person, as they are reflective of what each person deems as important to their daily needs.

These items are my current favourites that I always have when I’m on the go. Whether I’m meeting friends for coffee, going to a movie, or headed to yoga in the park these are a few items I take with me to help in the event of emergencies or even just to help me centre myself. So let’s dive into my own bag of goodies!

(Item descriptions from left to right)

Roots Brown Leather Bag

Yes, unfortunately this bag is leather. At first glance this may not appear to be socially conscious, however, this is second hand leather. I am passionate about upcycling clothing, shoes, jewelry and bags. At a young age my mom exposed me to the value and importance of giving away toys, clothing that doesn’t fit, and even items that are stored in the very back of the closet, to donation centres like Value Village, the Thrift Store and Good Will. Upcycling is like the idiom, “One (wo)man’s trash is another (wo)man’s treasure”! It ensures that someone else can love something I’ve used, just as much as I did when it belonged to me! These ethics have remained with me as an adult.

And this little leather bag was ready to come home with me.

Anything I can do to remove clothing from going into a landfill is good by me!

If you care to learn anything more about up-cycling leather, here’s a link to and article called "Why I Prefer Real Leather."

Saje Wellness; “Pocket Farmacy"

I love this bundle of carrier oils so much that I’ve made it my daily wallet. I always get compliments on how nice I smell whenever I open it whether to apply the oils or to prepare to use my cards at the cash register. These scents are always followed up with a smile and have become by far the best ice breakers.

I am always willing to talk about Saje and recommend it to strangers who are willing to listen.

Rocks for the Spirit; Kyanite

This little piece of Kyanite comes with me wherever I go. I got this as a gift from a best friend who knew just how much I love tiny gemstones that I can carry with me. Bri is the beautiful soul who sells these gems and I often admire the new items she brings into her online store! Definitely worth a look at her website and all the wonderfully mystical items she has.

Bri’s Online Store, Rocks for the Spirit.

This Blue Kyanite came with a description which I will relay for you, my reader,

“Blue Kyanite is known to align all chakras because it is a high-vibration stone. It’s one of only a few stones that never retain negative energy, so it never has to be cleansed. Blue Kyanite also calms the mind, relaxes the body and helps to heal the body.”

Needless to say, this is a stone that always brings me peace when I’m feeling stressed, frazzled or even when I have a headache.

And so my follow readers I have completed my challenge. How did I do?
