February Favourites - Skincare, Lifestyle, & Books

ree

Hey everyone! With another month in the books, I wanted to share some of my favourites that have been making my February special!

I've been trying to stay on top of facial and lip hydration, my skin always gets a little fussy this time of year. As well as, staying on top of self-care this month since the weather has been so brisk lately! Here are a few of my faves for this month.

SKINCARE

When my lips feel like they need extra hydration this has been a lifesaver. I put this on before bed and in the morning any dryness I saw or felt has been taken care of. This is a great lip treatment to pamper your lips leaving them silky soft. It's one of the few lip masks that help keep my lips their softest during the winter months! I'm so glad I purchased this. I had friends tell me all about it so it wasn't hard to convince me to try it. I love the packaging and the feel of their product so I was excited to try it! This product is enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants so my lips are saved during the cold winter months here in Canada! I purchased the original but it comes in many fruity flavours! Check it out for yourself here.

I love this mask! My skin feels so soft and glowy after I’ve used this product. I love low maintenance products like this and the lip sleeping mask. Put it on before bed, and wash it off in the morning. SUPER EASY! My favourite. During the winter my skin gets very dry so this product has been a nice addition to my regimen. This mask soaks in very nicely, with very little oil added to it. It's a “set it and forget it” kind of step in my makeup/skincare routine. I use it 2-3 times a week depending on how my skin is feeling. I’ve been using it since January and I have to say this is one I'd recommend for everyone of all skin types and ages. Hydration is key to happy skin so definitely put this one on your list for yourself, friends and family!

I purchased these two products together as a little sample pack from Sephora and I can't recommend it enough if you are worried about buying the bigger size! Check it out here.

Milk Makeup - Milk Moisturizer

I love Milk Makeup so far and this one was on my list to buy. I purchased a little sample from Sephora to try on my skin. This is a nice go-between the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. I put it on at night. I found it a bit heavy for daytime wear on my skin, it may work better on other skin types. I loved it for nighttime wear. Waking up with soft hydrated skin was great for makeup application! I really do love the Milk Makeup line so I suggest this one for those looking for a nice extra hydrating cream for a little pampering every day. I love that their products are vegan, gluten-free, fragrance and paraben-free all the things I’m looking for in a skincare line. If that interests you check it out here.

Farmacy Mask - Hydrating Sheet Mask

Again in the line of hydration for February. I went with the Farmacy Hydrating sheet mask. This is my first time trying a Farmacy product but I love sheet masks! They look crazy but it's a fun product to try. I bought this because of the price, about $8 for a sheet mask. A relatively affordable price for a pamper day or night. It was pretty simple to apply and was easy to wear for 15 - 20 minutes. My face felt very soft and even looking after wearing it and I plan on trying a few more from this line! My skin was soothed after I tried this mask so I would recommend it for someone looking to try sheet masks for the first time. If you have any recommendations for Farmacy products I’d love to try more.

LIFESTYLE

ree

I bought these at my local Goodness Me! And I love them. I've been looking for cute cotton net bags that I could carry with me while I shop at my local supermarket and farmers market. They are small and lightweight enough to carry with me in my purse or leave in my car for when I need a bag. These come in so many adorable colours that I want to get all of them! They say these bags can carry up to 22 lbs of groceries. Which I haven't pushed their full load but they are definitely strong enough to do the job. They can be easily washed since they are cotton, they'll shrink up at first but once you fill them out they go back to their regular size! They are a little higher in price but the purchase supports educationwithoutborders.ca which I'm happy to support. This is a nice little fun addition to shopping and I have had people comment on them already! So if you're looking for eco-friendly net bags check them out here! It's worth the switch from plastic bags!

BOOK

Do the Work - Steven Pressfield

ree

I already mentioned this book in a previous post here, but I recommend this book to anyone who needs a little extra motivation to get out there and just DO THE WORK! This was a nice quick read with a matter of fact writing that helped me stay motivated in the face of self-doubt and resistance. In Steven Pressfield's book Do The Work, he explains how we get distracted by resistance. Resistance thrives on pulling us off-kilter at any given moment if you let it. The power we hold is to “do the work!” Easier said than done. But to keep ahead of resistance is your superpower. This was the kick I needed to just get out there, get messy, and see what sticks! My recent blog posts are a byproduct of the inspiration from this book. So if you're looking for some extra motivation this month or next, put this one on your list, and tackle your passion project that has been sitting idle for too long!

Check out my previous blog about this book in more detail if you’re interested.
