At the start of each month, I take a look at my intentions from the previous month. This helps me reflect on how much farther I’ve come with another month in the books. I love setting goals, it keeps me focused, and feeling accomplished in the littlest of ways. Without a few monthly goals in the back of my mind, I start to feel a little off, and purposeless. So setting intentions at the start of every month helps me stay on track. The goals can vary from small things to large drawn out goals over the course of a month, 6 months, or a whole year. But the goal is to get that much closer to the place I want to be in my mind, body and soul.
So here’s a little introduction and reflection of my monthly goals. Feel free to do the same this month with me! I’d love to hear your goals for this month and support you in any way I can.
My Goals...
Cook a new vegan dish.
I love cooking, especially with my family. It’s a place where we bond together. Some of the sweetest moments I’ve had have been while cooking with people I love! Vegan food is so much fun to cook! With the challenge of: being resourceful, utilizing new spices that accentuate different yummy flavours, coupled with all the unique and beautiful recipes out there. The opportunities are endless, and that makes me feel like a better cook!
I’d love to try your dish! What would you recommend?
Set up a schedule for my blog.
I am awful about keeping a schedule for my blog. So I want to be more proactive this year with my blog. Sometimes I let the little voices talk me out of writing. I allow myself to believe the voices that hold me back (a future blog post about that coming up soon!) but it is time to take the leap of faith and trust the process! I know how to keep the voices quiet and that is by writing! I've created a schedule that will keep me motivated and happy about the creative process. Do you struggle? How do you get past the fear?
Have a weekly wellness day for me.
I'm someone that needs to have recharge days, it helps me stay focused and content with my mind, body, and soul. Whether it's buying flowers for myself, or cooking a meal that fills my belly! Wellness days are important! If my cup of gratitude, kindness, and wellness is empty I cannot provide for those that may need me. Wellness days are important and can look different for each of us. Keep your wellness consistent because often times we run on empty and continue to run empty for too long. By knowing we have one day a week for ourselves this helps support our wellness journey. It is up to us to recharge in the way we need.
Drink more water.
I drink more coffee than water on most days. YIKES, coffee is so good. So I should reverse that and keep my body healthy, and happy with a lot more water in my diet! Water helps our bodies and I don't drink enough of it. When I'm hydrated my head feels clearer and I'm more energetic. Thanks to my new FitBit it helps me track my water intake, my sleep schedule and how many steps I'm taking every day! All very insightful, and help me stay motivated to carry on with my wellness journey. Fitbit makes it like a fun game to keep yourself motivated and excited to more proactive with my health! Do you have a Fitbit or an Apple watch? Let me know what you think!
Push me out of my comfort zone at least 3 times a month.
These don't have to be big gestures, leaving it all on the line. They can be little things that make you feel like you're growing. Try something new. Brighten someone's day by saying hello! Talk to someone new in the supermarket. Make full eye contact and no phone interruptions! Or what about helping someone in need? There are so many opportunities to offer help all you have to do is ask! Ever wanted to pick up a new hobby, like hiking, floral arranging, cooking, or playing a new sport!? GO FOR IT! This is your sign! Comfort zone pushing is important and integral to good wellness. Without growth, we don’t find more of who we are and what defines our souls each day. I will push myself out of my comfort zone because it is good for me even though it can be scary! You never know, it could lead to big things! If you don't try you'll never know.
Date Nights.
Date nights are important to a healthy relationship. It’s a time where you can bond with your significant other. My partner and I try to get out of our routine and set up a date night every two weeks or so. It has not only brought us closer, but we are cherishing those moments together. Our rule is no phones. This offers time to reflect on our week, the feelings we may have encountered, and how we solved problems. We don’t get to see each other every day yet so we have made a conscious effort to make time for one another. It’s not only helped bring us together. But we now make more of an effort to show we are thinking of one another. Whether it’s a little gift, a nice note or card, or saying how much we love each other out loud to one another. It means more knowing we’re taking the time to spend together.
So there you go! That’s what I'll be working on this month as I work at becoming more like the Wellness Wonder Woman I want to be each day. Let me know what kinds of goals you’ve set for yourself this month! I’d love to hear from you!
