Self-care is the non-negotiable. That's the thing that you have to do.

I'll be completely honest. Lately, I haven't been as diligent about my own self-care. I have put others needs before my own and emptied my cup before I could refill it. Leaving me a bit empty and tired unable to help and be compassionate with those I love most when they needed me. Negotiating boundaries for your own self-care can be a daunting task when you want to make sure everyone's needs are met. The less your cup is full the less you can contribute effectively. Self-care looks different for everyone. However, as long as it takes care of your mind, body, and soul you need to always prioritize it first. That is a struggle for me. The struggles to put myself first, saying the words "no" when I know I've committed to too many things that have left me drained and unable to help. Finding my limit without burn out has been a task. Trying not to end up where I haven't fully recharged for my next task or week ahead. I can tell when I haven't prioritized myself. I find the fewer things that are on my plate the better I create, and be supportive to my friends, coworkers and family. So take the time and evaluate your self-care routine. Make yourself a priority and others that love you will always understand. Keep this quote in your mind if you need a little motivation for your Monday!
